Meet the Team: The Outsider & The Local
Welcome to [Korea Cheat Code]. This isn’t just another travel blog; it’s a “Faction” (Fact + Fiction) project run by a unique duo.
We believe the best way to understand Korea is through stories that are fun to read but accurate enough to trust. Here is the team making that happen.
👩🏼🏫 Alice (The Writer & Narrator)
- Role: The Storyteller / The “Level 3” Insider
- Origin: Ohio, USA 🇺🇸 ➔ Seoul, South Korea 🇰🇷
- Profile: I am the voice of this blog. A 26-something English teacher who came to Korea for the adventure and stayed for the Jeong (정). I share my journey through 3 stages:
- Level 1 (Stranger): Making embarrassing mistakes.
- Level 2 (Learner): Trying to understand the “Why.”
- Level 3 (Insider): Finally getting it (mostly). My job is to turn my chaotic experiences into helpful guides for you.
👨🏻💻 Ssam(The Editor & Fact-Checker)
- Role: The Boss / The Real Korean Friend
- Origin: South Korea 🇰🇷
- Profile: He is the “Ghost in the Machine.” A native Korean who acts as my cultural compass. While I write the stories, he ensures every piece of information—from history to restaurant recommendations—is 100% authentic.
- He corrects my cultural misunderstandings.
- He verifies the “Hidden Gem” locations.
- He makes sure I don’t teach you the wrong Korean slang.
🤝 How We Work Together
- Alice recalls a “Level 1” disaster (like trying to tip a waiter in Seoul).
- The Director laughs at me, then explains the cultural context behind it.
- We publish a story that gives you the entertainment of a novel with the reliability of a guidebook.
“Alice lives the story. The Director keeps it real.”
